7th ANNUAL BISBEE MARIACHI FESTIVAL
Mariachi fever is about to hit our community again with all the colorful festivities and beautiful passion that comes along with it. This will be the seventh annual mariachi Festival and is shaping up to be the very best. The organizers have booked some of the finest Mariachi performers in the business. This year we will be celebrating our headliner, Sonido de Mexico, who are celebrating their 25th Anniversary tour. Joining in on the fun are Mariachi Aztlan de Pueblo High School, Mariachi Pueblo Viejo, Los Changuitos Feos de Tucson, Las Azaleas, and Mariachi Nuevo Azteca de Tucson. These groups will be accompanied by the exceptionally talented traditional 80 plus folklorica dancers from Compania Danza Folklorica Arizona. Back by popular demand, we will have our very own 8-year-old Mariachi superstar Jasiel Ortiz, who has been an essential part of the festival since 2015. Also joining us this year, will be a special appearance from 10-year-old sensation Mariapaula Mazon, who was featured on Good Morning America and will be performing Selena Quintanilla songs.
Included in this year’s festival will be culinary craftsman from throughout the state who will be selling delicacies with a Mexico flair, traditional barbecue, and other fine food items as well as other vendors with their unique trinkets, snacks, and souvenirs. There will also be inflatable slide for the kids, face painting, and dancing. We have opened up this year’s event for vendors who will be serving craft beer, soft drinks, coffee, kettle corn, salsa, ribs, popsicles and water.
To celebrate our rich Bisbee mining heritage, we will have a miner’s display featuring artifacts and minerals from mines throughout the state. We will also celebrate the freedom we enjoy in our beloved country by honoring our heroes who put it all on the line to preserve it----our military. The cost of entry is still very minimal at a mere $15 for adults and children under the age of 10 are free.
Saturday, November 5th will be the main event which will last from 11 am to 7 pm (gates will open at 10 am). Tickets are on sale and can be purchased online by going to Purplepass.com/110522 or at the following local merchants: Tin Town Resource Center, Bisbee Breakfast Club, Bisbee Coffee Company, Jo’s Consignment, Everhart Insurance, Old Bisbee Brewing Co, and the Hitching Post.
